as april swells to a beauty bubble i pause to think about spring. back to early days when wind-swept daydreams and doodles swarmed schools like bees bursting over the scent of some delicious flower. to latter days of running for monotonous miles just to feel the one moment where all else rushed past and left me alone with the stillness. and finally to the present of learning that spring is not just about beginnings, but endings too. and with such beginnings and endings in cyclical simplicity i find it's a perfect time to reach out to ask for a snapshot of your day and offer you one of mine. i hope this message finds you all SMILING. if not, take a second and SMILE just for yourself.

2. new album
3. youtube
4. facebook

1. in your head in your head
it's out! today my cover version of the cranberries' "zombie" is now available from all major music retailers. check it out at iTunes, Amazon, etc. so a popular question i get asked is what percentage does an artist get from downloads? and as most popular questions go, the popular answer is...it depends. with my current distribution deal i keep 100% of the proceeds of "zombie" so by all means please support indie music and click click click away :-)
2. cozy cottages
i'm excited to share here first that i'll be releasing my fifth album, "the cottage sessions", on june 4th, 2009. it features all new original material and is about cycles...the beginnings, the middles (love and loss, not always in that order), and the inevitably struggling victories that make us begin yet again. right now i'm in the middle of negotiating something special to coincide with the album's release that i think (hope?) you'll be very happy about. stay tuned!
if you're just in dire need of some new music this week, i've uploaded a demo version i recorded a few months ago of "colorblind" by the counting crows. it's up on the music links page. and be sure to sign the guestbook and let me know you stopped on by!
3. you too? be
a few people have asked about my views on uploading music on youtube. and while i can't speak for other indie artists, why in the world wouldn't i want my music shared with others?! if someone feels moved enough to cover one of my songs, put it to a slideshow, or even do some exotic interpretive dance (do send me that one), you have my full permission. so feel free to use my music anywhere on youtube and just let folks know it's me singing somewhere in the description. cool with a k?
4. bookface
ahh yes and finally...facebook. after some nudging (much needed) i now have a music site on facebook. please consider becoming a fan at:

well that's it for now friends. i can't thank you all enough for your emails, your stories, and your kindness over the years. i never dreamed that playing my first coffeehouse 13 years ago would have launched into a lifelong dream of sharing music. i couldn't do it without you.
yep, you right there.
